The discovery of gopher tortoise burrows and the incorrect labeling of construction plans has resulted in nearly $35,000 in additional costs for the ongoing widening and resurfacing project on Carlton Cemetery Road.
At the county’s Feb. 20 meeting, commissioners voted in favor of a recommendation from County Engineer Kenneth Dudley to approve two change orders totaling $34,978.92.
