The Perry Police Department (PPD) wants to know if you have what it takes to be a chili champion.
The department is coordinating the 16th annual Taylor County Chili Challenge in conjunction with the annual Florida State Bluegrass Festival Saturday, April 7.
Proceeds will benefit Taylor County Special Olympics and the “Shop with a Cop” program.
The chili cook-off will begin at high noon with contestants vying for cash awards in three categories: Best Chili, Most Unique and People’s Choice.
Each participant must cook and provide at least a minimum of two gallons of chili for judging and serving.
The entry fee is $30 per chili. Entry forms are available at the PPD or Taylor County Chamber of Commerce.
