A caravan of law enforcement and emergency response vehicles paraded down Jefferson Street Thursday morning in support of the annual Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Coordinator Lin Gray with the Perry Police Department thanked Chief Jamie Cruse “for allowing me to be a part of it.
I would also like to thank Leslie Sunderland, Special Olympics Taylor County director; Lauren Collins, state director of Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics; and our Special Olympics volunteer coaches as well as agencies that participated: the Perry Police Department, Third Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, Florida Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of ATF.” Vehicles were provided by Taylor County Fire-Rescue, the City of Perry Fire Department, the Division of Forestry and Smokey the Bear, Doctors’ Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Florida Highway Patrol and Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
