Despite windy conditions, some 92 anglers took part in the ninth annual Special Olympics Inshore Fishing Tournament on Saturday, April 14 out of Keaton Beach, where Jeff Potoczek of Pensacola took home $1,750 for catching the largest redfish and second-largest trout.
Sponsored by the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run, the annual tournament was deemed a tremendous success by Tournament Director Lt. Lin Gray of the Perry Police Department (PPD), as the 92 anglers who battled high winds in hopes of reeling in a share of $2,700 in case prizes far surpassed the tournament’s goal of 80 fishermen.
