History — in rich, vibrant color

    Posted on April 18, 2018

The Taylor County Historical Society recently received a donation of more than 140 color slides depicting scenes of the former Brooks-Scanlon mill from Conley Brooks Jr. — the great-grandson of Dr. Dwight F. Brooks, one of the founders of the Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Company.

The slides captured everyday scenes of the mill and the surrounding town of Foley. Prints of the slides will be featured at the upcoming 15th Foley Reunion planned this Saturday at Forest Capital Hall.
