    Stormy Sunday

    Posted on April 18, 2018

The storm front which moved through Taylor County Sunday afternoon (April 15) created an unusually high tide along the coast, flooding area boat ramps and yards, but caused no reported damage or water over county roadways.

According to Taylor County Emergency Management Director Steve Spradley, high tide arrived shortly after the storm passed through and the high winds caused the water to rise even higher. The Steinhatchee River is expected to crest near flood stage after jumping six feet since Sunday’s storms. Spradley said the water was nearing River Road NE, but the roadway is expected to remain passable.
