The usually-sleepy town of Perry will undergo a significant population increase during the next week and a half, as an estimated 1,200 visiting workers will flood local roadways, motels, hotels, restaurants and other businesses as part of a planned “cold mill outage” at the local Georgia-Pacific Foley Cellulose mill.
An estimated 1,200 out-of-town contract workers are pouring into local hotels, motels and other rental accommodations this week, as the Foley Cellulose mill, begins a major maintenance project on Thursday.
