Dean Howard Land, 68, died April 16, 2018, in Perry. Dean was born July 27, 1949, in Jacksonville.
Dean honorably served our country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of New Home Baptist Church. Dean was owner and operator of Dean Land Dozier Work. He was member of the Perry Elks Lodge. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed hunting turkey, he’d chase after deer, and he enjoyed arrowhead hunting. Dean liked Harley Davidson motorcycles, and loved to ride his custom chopper.
Dean was preceded in death by: his father, Curtis Land; and his brother, Dale Land.
He is survived by: his children, Deanna Land, Amy Cope, and Dean Land, Jr. (Lacey); grandchildren, Erica Freeman, AbbiGayle Cope, Taylor Land, Zane Land, and Hunter Land; his brother, David Land (Donna); the mother of his children, Erma Lee; two special care givers, Melissa Meyer and daughter Heidi Tomlinson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many good friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Pastor James Lee officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
