‘Isle of Dogs’ is another wonderful movie from the mind of Anderson

Wes Anderson has one of the most unique and recognizable directing styles of anyone in the business today. If you’ve seen any of his movies, you will be able to instantly recognize another right away. In my previous reviews of his works — “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “Moonrise Kingdom” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” — I spoke about how his movies are absolutely unique, so to change things up this time, I thought I would take a moment to talk about how absolutely unique his movies are.

Every aspect of Anderson’s films is entirely his own, from the camera work and the set designs, the color palettes and the non-standard film ratios, to the distinct dialogue and even the cadence with which the actors deliver their lines.

His latest film, “Isle of Dogs,” is his second foray into stop-motion animation, after 2009’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” and possesses much of the same style as his previous works. That being said, however, “Isle of Dogs” may be his most approachable movie for non-Anderson fans in quite a few years.
