    Mae Jean Holton

    Mae Jean Holton, 83, died April 18, 2018, in Perry. Mae Jean was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Perry, to Lonnie R. Vann and Clifton Wilcox Vann.

    Mae Jean was a former president of the Ladies Elks Club and was a volunteer at Doctors’ Memorial Hospital. She was an avid bridge player, Seminole fan and booster and a nurse, serving in Taylor County for over 40 years.

    Mae Jean was preceded in death by: her husband of 60 years, Steve O. Holton Sr.; her parents, Lonnie R. and Clifton Wilcox; her son, Steve O. (Neil) Holton Jr.; and her sister, Geneva Vann Thorton.

    She is survived by: her daughter, Stefane and husband, Brian Gray; her daughter, Tammy and her husband, Jeff Graham; her son, Stacy Holton and his wife, Tonya; her grandchildren, Trey Holton, Hope Holton-Carter, Devon Towles, Lydia Forehand, Rachel Graham and Holton Graham; a special niece, Debbie Hoover; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were held Thursday, April 19, at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Perry with Bro. James Taylor officiating. The family received friends from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at First United Methodist Church of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Perry.
