Crime Tip: No personal checks for stolen items

When a woman contacted her insurance agent to inquire about coverage for a new boat she had just purchased, her description of the transaction raised several red flags with the man – who just happened to be a retired law enforcement officer.

Armed with his suspicions, the man began checking around and spied a post on the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) social media page about a boat that had been reported stolen from Dark Island.
