Governor appoints Spradley to fill Russell’s commission seat‘

Governor Rick Scott has announced the appointment of Steve Spradley to fill the District 3 County Commission seat left vacant by the death of Commissioner Frank Russell on Feb. 10.

Spradley, 62, of Perry, has nearly 40 years of public service, serving as a deputy sheriff and investigator with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department (1974-89), a law enforcement major with the Florida Department of Financial Services (1989-2005) and most recently as Taylor County’s Emergency Management Director for the past six years (2012-18).
