Father’s Day is Sunday and there are plenty of films out there which look at the relationship between a father and son. There’s probably no better father/son movie than “Field of Dreams,” although “Frequency” is also up there on my own personal list.
One of the most recent films that delves into the idea of just what lengths a father will go to save his son is “Snitch,” which arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray June 11. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson (“Fast & Furious 6”) as a father who goes undercover to help bust drug dealers in order to reduce his own son’s sentence.
“Snitch” somehow manages to be a pretty straight-forward action movie, but also a thought-provoking one, if only for the real world implications its story holds.
The movie is rated PG-13 for drug content and sequences of violence.
