Barge will move during busy weekends

Boaters should have a little more room to navigate during the busy scallop season opening weekend, thanks to the cooperation of the contractor replacing the Hodges Park Pier at Keaton Beach.

In response to a request from county commissioners and county staff, D&L Contracting has agreed to – when possible – relocate the barge to the east side of the canal (away from the pier in the middle of the canal) after completing work each Friday and then shift it back to the work area adjacent to the pier when they return each Monday.
