City begins budget talk with a $100,000 deficit

    Posted on July 18, 2018

City Finance Director Penny Staffney gave council members a somewhat improved outlook for upcoming budget talks, stating they are likely to begin with a $100,000 deficit target.

“It’s not as bad as first blush, which was somewhere around $250,000. But we sat down and went line item by line item and trimmed some larger items. So you’re looking at about $100,000-ish to come up with,” Staffney told the Perry City Council at its regular meeting last week.
