More than a century of history was reduced to piles of rubble and dust Tuesday with the demolition of the 113-year-old building located at the corner of Main Street and Washington.
The two-story brick structure, built in 1905, was best known locally as the location of the former Western Auto. The roof of the building had collapsed in some areas, leading to a massive mold infestation — prompting construction workers to don ventilators before even entering the building.
