A grilled chicken dinner fund-raiser held Friday to benefit a member of the Perry Police Department (PPD) family exceeded all expectations — selling out in just over an hour. PPD Chief Jamie Cruse expressed his thanks to everyone who supported the event. Proceeds benefitted K-9 Ptl. Timmy Murphy and his family. Murphy sustained severe burns in a non-work-related accident at his home in early July and faces an extended recovery.
“Thank you to everyone that helped out. I’m very blessed to have the support of the community and the Perry PD. I am also blessed to be employed by a wonderful department where we are all family and take care of each other no matter what,” Murphy said.
