Sheriff, county to discuss budget cuts

County commissioners are scheduled to hold a special meeting today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. to set the county’s proposed millage (property tax) rates, in addition to further discussing the 2018- 19 budget and officially approving changes to county employees’ health insurance coverage for the coming year.

In addition to adopting a proposed maximum property tax (millage) rate, commissioners are expected to solidify a series of budget cuts taken last week to balance the proposed budget without raising taxes.
