Maxine Carrin Whitfield

Maxine Carrin Whitfield, 82, died Aug. 3, 2018, in Palm Coast. She was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Perry to Howard Carrin and Doris Dorman Carrin.

Maxine was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry. She worked in medical records as a librarian for Doctors Memorial Hospital and was the founder and manager of Tree Capital Credit Union. She loved flowers and working in her garden. Painting and playing the piano were also passions of hers; although spending time with her grandchildren was her favorite of all.

Maxine was preceded in death by: her parents, Howard Carrin and Doris Dorman Carrin; her husband, Howard Whitfield; her sister, Louise Bishop; and her son-in-law, Henry Fulmer Jr.

Maxine is survived by: her son, Ray and his wife, Ruth Ann Whitfield of Perry; her daughter, Amy Fulmer of Palm Coast; her sister, June Carrin of California; her three grandchildren, Drew and Curt Whitfield and Boyd Fulmer; and her two great-grandchildren, Karis and Raylann; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 7, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Rev. Curt Whitfield officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterwards in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family received friends from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
