School board approves tentative budget

With no comment from the public, the Taylor County School Board voted to tentatively adopt its 2018-19 budget, along with a proposed slight millage rate decrease for the district, during a public hearing held July 31.

The audience was silent when Board Chairwoman Brenda Carlton called for discussion on both the budget and millage. District Financial Director Ashley Valentine gave a brief summary of the detailed overview of the budget she first presented to the board at its July 24 meeting.
