Bernie Joe McGuire, affectionately known as “BJ”, 57, died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home in Tallahassee.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 18, at Beggs Funeral Homes, 3322 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311, (850) 942-2929.

Bernie was born Nov. 9, 1960, in Perry, to William E. and Kitty L. McGuire. He lived in Tallahassee for the past 33 years.

Bernie was a truck driver for National Carriers, a Baptist and an Air Force veteran. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and lover of the outdoors. Most weekends he could be found camping with his family, hunting with friends or fishing to his heart’s content.

He is survived by: his wife, Amy Huff McGuire; his son, Henry McGuire; his daughter, Latasha McGuire; and his brother, Walt McGuire. He was also an uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
