No more ‘Straight A’s’ on kindergarten report cards

Parents of incoming kindergarteners will no longer see traditional letter grades (A, B, C, D or F) on their child’s first report card this year, and instead will see a new “itemized” standards-based grading system.

The Taylor County School Board unanimously agreed to the change during approval of the Taylor Grading Protocols for 2018-19 at its July 31 meeting.
