19-year-old gets 30-year sentence

Tearful testimony and gulping sobs of disbelief echoed in the courtroom Wednesday morning as Circuit Judge Greg Parker handed down a 30-year prison sentence for convicted murderer Oriana Forsythe, 19.

Forsythe and her mother dropped their heads into their hands and cried as Parker made the pronouncement.

PHOTO: Oriana Forsythe told Judge Greg Parker during her sentencing hearing Wednesday, “I am not a killer. I have been a lot of things…but I did not do this.” The 19-year-old was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her role in the 2016 murder of Steinhatchee resident Aaron Tappe.
