County to revisit golf cart ordinance

At the request of Commissioner Steve Spradley, the county will consider amending or repealing an ordinance specifying where golf carts are allowed on certain sections of county-owned roadways around Keaton Beach.

Spradley brought up the issue at the county’s Monday, Aug. 6 meeting, suggesting the zone in which golf carts are allowed — and where the speed limit is significantly lower — be shortened on one side of Keaton Beach Road and extended on the other side of the Keaton Beach Boat Ramp.
