    Ethelle Whiddon McHargue

    Ethelle Whiddon McHargue, 79, died Aug. 25, 2018, in Tallahassee, following an extended illness and is now sleeping in death waiting for Jehovah God’s time to resurrect her to a paradise Earth.

    Ethelle was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was born April 18, 1939, in Cabbage Grove, to Alton Whiddon and Josephine Sheffield Whiddon.

    Ethelle was a homemaker who once enjoyed fishing, gardening, scalloping, camping, doing volunteer ministry and spending time with her family.

    She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, William Arthur Wilson, Sr.; and her daughter, Cynthia Ethelle McCormick.

    She will be dearly missed by: her husband of 46 years, William Henry “Mac” McHargue of Perry; her son, William Arthur Wilson Jr. of Hickory, N.C.; her daughter, Lisa Wilson Beaty of Perry; her stepson, Jed McHargue of Avon Park; her brother, Joseph Whiddon of Perry; her three sisters, Betty Shiver of Spring Hill, Polly Carmichael of Tallahassee and Elaine Pruitt of Perry; her five grandchildren, Kari, Trey, Donovan, Nicholas and Sean; her three great-grandchildren, Rhett, Isla and Rhett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Perry. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
