Hampton lashes out at Deming

Visibility agitated and shaking with emotion, Perry City Councilwoman Shirlie Hampton called out fellow council member Mike Deming’s for what she described as alleged lack of support for the black community — according to Hampton — in a shocking outburst at the close of Tuesday night’s meeting.

After banging on the table in apparent frustration, Hampton launched into a tirade accusing Deming of not supporting city initiatives geared toward black residents.
