Jim Forest Cox, 73, of Washington, N.C., died Wednesday Aug. 29, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, N.C.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the graveside service.

Jim was born June 13, 1945, in Beaufort County, N.C., to the late Henry Foncie Cox and Iantha Andrews. He attended Washington High School and retired as vice president and general manager of Tidewater Equipment Company Inc. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard.

Survivors include: his daughter, Dini Cox Taylor and Robert Starling of Greenville; his sons, Shawn Cox and wife, Tracy, of Ayden, N.C., Jarod Steele Cox and wife, Amy Padget, of Westville, Fla.; his brother, Holman Cox and his wife and Jim’s special sister-in-law, Linda, of Washington, N.C.; his sister, Shirley Mayo Wiggs of Washington, N.C; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
