The Perry City Council has approved an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to assume ownership of a 1.665-mile stretch of Jefferson Street.
The city is now waiting for the county to approve a similar agreement with FDOT — assuming ownership of a .7-mile portion that runs from the city limits to Wright Road. In return, FDOT will take over ownership of Wright Road from the county.
