Following notifications to immediate family members, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has released the names of the two victims injured in a Friday explosion at AMTEC Less-Lethal Systems (ALS) located at 4700 Providence Road off Highway 19 North in Perry.

Christina L. Patterson, 42, of Perry – a wife and mother of three children – was fatally injured in the incident.

Thomas Fowler, Jr., 56, was flown from the scene in critical condition and remains hospitalized at a Tallahassee-area hospital.
The TCSO Communications Center received a report of an explosion at the manufacturing site at approximately 10 a.m.

Law enforcement and emergency response officials took considerable time to secure the area where the explosion occurred prior to State Fire Marshal’s Office investigators beginning their investigation, according to TCSO Major Marty Tompkins.
