Missing man’s remains found

The Americus Police Department (APD) in Georgia reported Tuesday that skeletal remains found in a wooded area there are believed to be those of former Perry resident Derek Parks, 32, missing out of Tallahassee.

Law enforcement in the Georgia town received information last Friday, Sept. 14, that Parks’ body may be located in an area off the 900 block of Railroad Street. Officers searched the area and located the remains of an unidentified person at approximately 7 a.m., according to reports.
