Airfield lighting to get $435,000 in upgrades

The Perry-Foley Airport will soon receive a much-needed upgrade to its airfield lighting system, which dates back to the 1940s, thanks to a $435,000 project almost entirely funded by grants.

In August, the Taylor County Commission approved an agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a $384,100 grant to help cover the cost of the project. The county has already received a $43,126 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
