Grant to fund full-time firefighter for beaches

Taylor County will receive $128,583 in federal funds over the next three years to help hire a full-time firefighter to be stationed in the beaches area.

Currently, the Taylor County beaches (Dekle, Keaton, Cedar, Dark and Bird Island) and surrounding areas are served by the main Taylor County Fire-Rescue (TCFR) station located at Perry-Foley Airport and volunteer firefighters.
