When Taylor County voters cast their ballots on Nov. 6 they will have the chance to decide whether or not local schools can continue to provide special classes such as drama, music, STEM, technology and media by renewing a 0.25 mill “critical needs” property tax for an additional four years.
The “quarter mill” tax has been levied to help fund academic, “non-core” school programs such as music and physical education, as well as cover the cost of increasing operating expenses for the past seven years.
