Commissioners wasted little time in filling the vacant county administrator position, voting 4-0 in favor of appointing Assistant County Administrator LaWanda Pemberton to the post on Thursday morning – just one day after voting 4-0 to terminate County Administrator Ted Lakey.
Chairwoman Pam Feagle opened Thursday’s special meeting by stating, “I am not interested in interviewing applicants when we have a hard-working, dedicated, good employee with leadership skills already on staff.”
