Mary Alice Mims Lanier of Perry died on Nov. 25, 2018, after an extended illness.
Mary Alice was born in Montezuma, Ga. She attended elementary school in Rebecca, Ga., and graduated from high school in Douglas, Ga. The University of Georgia, her alma mater, was where she met her husband of 42 years.
She was a dedicated teacher and spent a majority of her career teaching eighth grade language arts.
Mary Alice was predeceased by her husband, Louis.
She is survived by her daughter Alison Lanier Bankson (Trey), her grandson, Lanier, and granddaughter, Ali.
A private graveside service will be held at Pineview Memorial Gardens today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. A memorial service will follow at First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
All arrangements are under the care of Beggs Funeral Home Perry Chapel.
