Former county administrator was actively seeking job in Destin before he was fired

Former Taylor County Administrator Ted Lakey had already been named a finalist for the vacant city manager position in Destin when he was fired by county commissioners here back on Nov. 14.

According to a Nov. 6 article in The Destin Log by Tony Judnich, the Destin City Council agreed on Nov. 5 to hold a special meeting to interview its top city manager candidates – including Lakey – after narrowing a field of 53 applicants down to five.
