County commissioners finally approved a proposed road swap with the state last week, clearing the way for the City of Perry to continue with a grant funding a proposed canopy/balcony project downtown.
During a special meeting held last week, the Taylor County Commission approved an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) under which the county will take ownership and responsibility for a portion of what is now U.S. 221, while the state will assume ownership of Wright Road.
