Pemberton is new county administrator

LaWanda Pemberton is now officially Taylor County’s new administrator, after commissioners unanimously approved a two-year employment contract during Monday’s board meeting.

Pemberton has been serving as acting county administrator since Nov. 15 — one day after the commission voted 4-0 to fire former Administrator Ted Lakey just over two months shy of completing his own two-year contract.
