Ralph Lee Hunter, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, in Orange Park at the Haven Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born June 14, 1934, in Taylor County to John and Alvada Hunter.
served in the Army from 1953-1956 and Army Reserve from 1956-1961. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, retiring as Postmaster of the Chiefland Fla. Post Office, before returning to Perry in 1991. Ralph was a member of the Perry Seventh Day Adventist Church in Perry.
was preceded in death by: his wife of 62 years, Charlie Bell Hunter;his parents, Alvada (Courtney) and John Hunter; three brothers,Edward Hunter, Franklin Hunter and Gene Hunter; and four sisters,Leola Hayes, Ester Hobart, Alta Mae Heiser and Deborah Hunter.
He is survived by: two sons, Eugene (Joani) Hunter and John (Diane)Hunter; a daughter, Brenda (Hugh) Johstono; one brother, Earl Hunter; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Ralph and Charlie Bell will be conducted at 2p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Perry Seventh Day Adventist Church. The church is located at 2268 Green Farm Rd, Perry FL 32347.
