Some43 children, including several who have relocated to Perry from areas that were devastated by Hurricane Michael, took part in the seventh annual “Shop with a Cop” event hosted by the Perry Police Department Saturday, Dec. 15.
“It was a complete success,” Capt. Gene Franklin said. “We were able to help more children than ever, thanks to the support we’ve received at the our fund-raisers we have held throughout the year and from private contributors.”
This year, deputies from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters from the Perry Fire Department joined PPD officers for the shopping adventure.
