4-car crash claims life of beloved JROTC 1st Sgt.

Former students, co-workers and friends are mourning the death of beloved longtime Taylor County High School (TCHS) JROTC instructor 1st Sgt. (Retired) Eddie Smith, who was killed in a tragic four-vehicle crash Friday in Madison County.

Memories of Smith – commonly referred to as “1st Sgt.” – were being shared online as news of the tragic crash spread the weekend prior to Christmas.
