New jail scanner finds meth in female suspect

Just a few days after being installed, a new full-body scanner at the Taylor County Jail helped confirm the presence of illegal contraband being introduced into the facility by a local woman arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

According to a Perry Police Department (PPD) report, Tammy Darlene Perry, 47, of Perry, was charged with possession of methamphetamine after an early-morning traffic stop Wednesday, Dec. 26 yielded a small amount of the illegal drug.
