Although Taylor County escaped major damages during Hurricane Michael – which devastated the Panhandle when it made landfall three months ago – there was still apparently enough loss to warrant claims for federal assistance to the tune of $804,230.
On Wednesday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) released a breakdown of federal funds released to local residents due to Hurricane Michael claims. It shows that almost $95,000 in federal grants have gone to 44 homeowners and renters.
