County, TCDA changing local tax abatement regs

In what is being referred to as a “complex issue,” County Attorney Conrad Bishop and Taylor County Development Authority (TCDA) Attorney Ray Curtis have been tasked with revising the county ordinance setting forth the process under which new and expanding businesses can qualify for ad valorem tax incentives.

Following a lengthy discussion during a Thursday, Jan. 10 workshop, county commissioners asked Bishop and Curtis to bring back proposed changes for consideration
