Thomas “Tommy” Everett Cook went to walk and talk with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 4, 2019.

Tommy was born on March 21, 1941, in Russellville, Ark.  He was preceded in death by his mother Laura Willis and his stepfather Charlie Willis.

Tommy is survived by his wife Pat Gunter-Cook, daughter Sabra Cook Farnell and husband Bennie of Perry, daughter Carla Cook Ward and husband Steve of DeLand, daughter Candi Cook of Bradenton, and three grandchildren Magan Ward, Trace Ward, and Nikolas Cook, and also his longtime “adopted son” Freddie Lee Johnson.

Tommy was a graduate of Taylor County High School. He joined the Marines and proudly served his country in Okinawa, Japan. He was past President of the Perry Elks Lodge, past Master of the Perry Masonic Lodge and a member of the Perry Shrine Club.

Tommy was proud of establishing two businesses in Perry and of the customers and friends he made there. He worked as a correctional officer before joining the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department from which he retired.

Tommy loved collecting elephants and has a collection of over 3,000. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Florida State Seminoles and the Arkansas Razorbacks football teams, as well as the Atlanta Braves baseball team.

In remembrance of his beloved show “The Price Is Right” where he never let anyone see him during the show or wanted any doctor’s appointments during those times, the funeral being held at noon will be a salute to that memory.

A viewing will be held from 6 pm till 7 pm on April 10, at Beggs Funeral Home in Perry.

A grave site ceremony will be held High Noon on Thursday, April 11 at Woodlawn Cemetery.
