In a move that will signifcantly affect how anglers fish for spotted seatrout off the Taylor County coast, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will consider a draft rule early next month that would slash the daily bag limit by 40% while also prohibiting guides from keeping a limit during for-hire trips.
Citing a recently-completed stock assessment they say show changes are needed to maintain the fishery’s overall health, FWC staff has recommended a series of changes that will affect trout fishing across the state at the commission’s meeting set for May 1-2 in Tallahassee.
