Dozens of area residents, including many local charter captains, are expected to attend next week’s Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) meeting in Havana to argue against a series of proposed changes to spotted seatrout regulations they say will have a major impact on Taylor County’s economy and could ultimately put them out of business.
At next week’s meeting — which will be held Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 8:30 a.m. — the commission will consider a draft rule that would slash the daily bag limit by 40% while also prohibiting guides from keeping a limit during for-hire trips.
