Spring Musical ‘Pirates! 2’ hits the stage May 16

Taylor County Elementary School’s Drama Club will present their Spring Musical “Pirates! 2” Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m.

“Some rascally pirates are back at work, seeking adventure and treasure on the high seas. But a mighty storm rolls in, and the pirates find themselves shipwrecked on a deserted island – or is it? Will the king of the high seas have a plan to save the day? Through the course of this musical, they discover that real treasure is something they have plenty of – friendship and family,” drama teacher Kelli Johnson said.

“The program will feature student soloists and choreography through five songs that assist in the telling of the story. The Drama Club consists of 34 students (a combination of third, fourth and fifth graders), who have been working on their acting, singing and dancing skills in an afterschool drama program since February,” she said.

The program will be held at the elementary school, and is free and open to the public.
