County to finalize $49.7 million budget Monday

At a public hearing held Monday night, The Taylor County Commission approved a tentative $49.7 million budget for the upcoming 2019-20 fiscal year, which includes a slight 0.6% increase in overall property taxes.

The hearing, which lasted about 30 minutes, was the first of two scheduled to complete the county’s budget. The second and final hearing will be held Monday, Sept. 16, at 5:01 p.m. at the Taylor County Administrative Complex on Green Street. At that hearing, the board will approve the final budget and property tax millage rates.
