“When witches go riding and black cars are seen, the moon laughs and whispers ‘Tis near Halloween’.”
Calling all ghouls and goblins, princesses and fairies, heroes and villains: The Taylor County Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Trunk or Treat” is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31.
From 6-8 p.m., masked creatures of the night will be crawling downtown Perry’s Jefferson Street.
“Trunk or treating,” costume contests, decorating contests, games, food, a pumpkin carving and painting contest and more will be included among the festivities.
The costume contest will take place at the Chamber, with trophies awarded for best overall, most scary, best group and best recycled.
For the pumpkin contest, participants can drop their pumpkins off at the Chamber on Wednesday, Oct. 30, or Thursday, Oct. 31, prior to the event, or Thursday evening during the event.
The costume contest and pumpkin contest will end at 7:30 p.m., with judging beginning at 8 p.m. The winners will be announced later that evening on the Chamber’s Facebook page and will be featured in the TaCo Times the following week.
Roads will begin closing at 5:30 p.m. in preparation for the event. Residents are asked to plan accordingly.
To enter a trunk, donate bags of candy or for more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce at (850) 584-5366.
